Open Space Preservation

I support renewing the open space tax because it’s a vital investment in the future of Fort Collins. Our natural areas are more than just scenic spaces—they’re essential to our quality of life, providing opportunities for recreation, environmental education, wildlife habitat, and climate resilience. By renewing this tax, we can continue to protect the green spaces that make our city special while also taking action to make them more accessible and sustainable. A key part of that vision includes planting more trees along our trails to provide much-needed shade, making outdoor spaces more comfortable for everyone—especially during hot summer months. This is about preserving what we love and improving it for the generations to come.
